                @immidash is without a doubt one of the most excit
                @immidash is without a doubt one of the most exciting Artists out there at the moment and an Academy Most Ready Artist for the Class of 24. Born to a British mother and Trinidadian father, @immidash has lived everywhere from San Diego to Gloucestershire, and she’s as much into boxing and gym life as she is music - and her work reflects the broadness of her world.   She learned Latin and jazz from her parents, classical from her grandparents and forged her own musical tastes via the wit of Lily Allen’s Alright, Still, the revelations of Usher’s Confessions and the hidden treasures on Amy Winehouse’s posthumous Lioness.   These influences still linger, particularly with her self-reflective lyrical approach. Though her songs aren’t necessarily based on true stories, there is a deep honesty that always shines through.   Her 2023 EP Falling Apart At The Seams is a prime example of this. Made in collaboration with producer Cal Lewis over the course of a year, the songs within find Dash grappling with what she calls “growing through the motions of life; relationships, anxiety, expressions of what my life was like in that period.”   This has continued right up to her most recent single, Hardest To Impress, which resulted from Dash and co-writer Alba Arias having an introspective discussion regarding the exciting developments in their creative and professional lives, juxtaposed with the ability to truly be satisfied with the fruits of their labour and always looking for the next thing.   Her projects will be all encompassing, and importantly create a powerful connection between her and the audience; “I always felt Billie Eillish was talking to me personally, validation for other people is important, that is what art and music has always been to me. I want to represent that for someone else”.

Introducing one of our Most Ready Artists the superb @immidash Immi Dash describes her music as "moody, smoky, dark spooky vibes," reflecting her eclectic background and diverse influences. Born to a British mother and Trinidadian father, music was always part of her life. Initially shy, Dash found her true passion in music after moving to Stroud, where she was exposed to a creative environment. Her music, influenced by Latin, jazz, classical, and artists like Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse, is deeply introspective and honest.                 Over the next two weeks we’ll be celebrating our amazing new cohort on LIMF Academy 24/25. Jazmine Johnson is a stunningly gifted singer, songwriter and creative visionary who, as her bio explains, ‘came to much wider attention thanks to 2023’s collaboration with Drum n Bass superstar Netsky. The resulting song, Hell In High Heels, brings into sharp focus Johnson’s versatility as a writer and performer, having never fully immersed herself in the DnB scene beforehand the song has become a bona fide hit, amassing an astonishing seven million streams on Spotify and officially certified gold in New Zealand. Johnson responded to the news with a characteristic, down to Earth scouse wit. “I want my plaque!” she laughs. “Until I’ve got that boujie thing, it won’t feel real!” The success of Hell In High Heels has led to more work with established DnB artists, including Chasing Gold, a song on the upcoming Delta Heavy album. In each of these cases, she doesn’t pander to genre expectations. “They don’t come up with a beat that I write to,” she insists. “I write the song, and they produce it.” But as excited as Johnson is for the collaborations, she refuses to lose focus on her solo work. She is currently in the early stages of an expansive solo project, a hybrid of R&B and pop, with a deeply personal lyrical approach and a soul driven energy. As her career reaches dizzying heights, she has no qualms about striving for the very best. “I’ve had to work two jobs, write, go through drama, all whilst doing writing sessions and keep myself sane. Now I’ve had a taste of that kind of world success, people connecting to my voice. I want to make music that resonates. There’s been no Liverpool superstar in years.
